Basalt products are revolutionising the construction industry. Lighter, more durable, and resistant to corrosion, they are the sustainable replacement for traditional steel.

Join the future of construction today. .

What if there was an alternative to steel?

Why basalt?

Strong and lightweight

Basalt rebar is 4x lighter than steel and has 3x the tensile strength, making it ideal for structural applications.

Resistant to corrosion

Unlike steel, basalt does not rust in corrosive environments, reducing the need for heavy concrete covers.

Cost Efficient

Basalt rebar’s durability and strength allow for thinner concrete covers, saving material costs and labour.

Sustainable

At the end of their lifecycle, all basalt products are fully recyclable, supporting green construction initiatives.

About us

Basalt Construction Solutions is a UK-based supplier specialising in high-performance basalt products for the construction industry.

Our mission is to provide sustainable and durable materials that outperform traditional options like steel, contributing to longer-lasting and eco-friendly construction solutions.

basalt production process

Basalt is mined

Basalt rock is extracted from quarries through mining.

The basalt stone is heated in a furnace to about 1400°C until it becomes molten.

The molten basalt is then pulled through small nozzles to create thin continuous fibres called roving.

Rebar Mesh

Rebar

Chopped Fibres

Geogrid

Fibrous Insulation (ECOMAT)

Laminates

The basalt fibres are then processed into final products like rebar, mesh, laminates, or insulation depending on their intended use.
